A lot of people have been curious to as, if these would be a good upgrade from the shp9500. a true highlight. but the world is full of people who play FPS gaming, using on-board audio. Discussion. People voting them just don't understand that gaming isn't the same as music listening. Hi, just wanted to put together some reviews on the relatively new HD58X Jubilee from the Philips SHP9500. People have a tendency to overestimate their hearing capabilities. Mids: Much better on the HD58X. So lower in level than the SHPs but higher in accuracy and (personally) enjoyment. I can see the critics some people have, not everyone likes this sub-bass and I can imagine that the mids on the HD650 are more forward and with better timbre finally there is some grain in the highs but on the other hand I know people who think the HD650 is shouty in the mids and lack treble/sub-bass so I don't see the HD58X as an inferior headphone, they are very good for $149. Unfortunaly no but reading a lot on the forums most people prefer the HD58X over the Akg, 7xx have more soundstsge but 58x feels more musical, mids are closer and more refined, bass I'm not sure as well as highs, all I know is that the AKG feels V shaped compared.
